Make your own Chili!

No football party is complete without Chili!

Try our easy chili recipe… it is always a crowd favorite!

You will need the following items for this project:

  • Fry Pan
  • Large Pot
  • 1.5 pounds of ground beef
  • 1 large can of tomatoes
  • 8 oz can of tomato paste
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/8 tsp red (cayenne) pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • 15.5 oz can of Kidney Beans
  • 1 can of corn (optional)
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large green pepper
  • bag of shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 container of sour cream (optional)
  • 1 bag of tortilla chips (optional)
  • 1 bunch of scallions (optional)




Steps for The Beef:

  1. In a fry pan, brown the beef
  2. Drain Fat
  3. Move to a large pot

Steps for The Onion and Pepper:

  1. Dice the onion and the pepper
  2. Lightly sauté the onion and pepper
  3. Add to the large pot with the beef

Add the following ingredients to the large pot:

  • 1 large can of tomatoes
  • 8oz can of tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons of chili powder
  • 1/8 tsp. of red (cayenne) pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Stir the ingredients and simmer the large pot for 2 hours, stirring occasionally

Before Serving:

  1. Rinse the kidney beans in cold water
  2. Rinse the corn in cold water (optional)
  3. Add to the large pot & Stir to mix ingredients
  4. Wait until the beans and corn are warm

Serving:
Using a ladle or large spoon, serve the chili in bowls. Top each bowl with shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and some sliced scallions and serve tortilla chips on the side. Delicious!
