The Dreidel Game

Hanukkah just isn't FUN without a dreidel game! Check out our spin on this traditional Hanukkah activity. Play with your children, or teach them to enjoy playing on their own. What better way to keep the family occupied while you prepare their favorite holiday dishes! Visit iParty to stock up on chocolate Hanukkah gelt, colorful dreidels, and much more.

How to Play the Dreidel Game!

Players gather around the table, or sit in a circle on the floor.

Each player is given 15 pieces of chocolate Hanukkah gelt.

Each player puts one piece of gelt in the center. This area is called "the pot."

Youngest player spins the dreidel first.

When the dreidel stops, the Hebrew letter that is facing up determines what to do next!

If the dreidel lands on:
Gimmel: Good spin! Take all of the gelt in the pot!
Nun: Oh no! No gelt for you!
Hey: Hoorah! Take half of the gelt in the pot!
Shin: Shoot! Put one piece of gelt in the pot.

When only one piece of gelt remains in the pot, each player adds one more piece.

Play continues until one player has all of the gelt!
