Thanksgiving cards a perfect project for kids!

Thanksgiving Pop-Up Greeting Cards

This project is a personalized way to show you care this Thanksgiving. Pop-up greetings are colorful and unexpected, and most of all they are FUN to make! Your children will love helping you with this project and your family and friends will appreciate your thought and creativity.

Steps:

Thanksgiving with Love Card

Fold brown construction paper in half, top to bottom.

Fold in half again, left to right - the seam should be on the left.

On front of card, place foil stickers in rows of 3 across, 4 down.

Cut a length of orange curling ribbon. Glue as a straight, vertical strip to front of card, between first and second columns of stickers.

Cut another length of orange curling ribbon. Glue as a straight, horizontal strip to front of card, between first and second rows of stickers.

Tie a small bow out of curling ribbon, glue to intersection of 2 strips of ribbon you have just attached.

Cut a heart out of construction paper. (Tip: fold paper in half. With seam facing left, cut ½ heart shape. Unfold paper and you should have a symmetrical heart!)

Cover heart with foil leaf stickers.

Bend rectangular strip of construction paper into an accordion. Glue one end to inside center of card.

Glue other end to back of heart.

Close card, place heavy book on top and allow to set for 10 minutes.

Open card, and write a message of your choice, in black marker.

Thanksgiving Harvest Pumpkin Card

Fold black construction paper in half, top to bottom.

Fold in half again, left to right - the seam should be on the left.

Using white colored pencil, trace outline of a pumpkin on orange construction paper and cut out.

Trace cut-out pumpkin on orange construction paper, cut this new image out as well.

Cut 2 small, uneven rectangles from yellow construction paper. These will be your pumpkin stems.

Cut 2 small leaf shapes from green construction paper, one for each pumpkin.

Glue stem and leaf to top back edge of each pumpkin.

Using white colored pencil, draw curved lines top to bottom on each pumpkin.

Glue one pumpkin to front center of your card.

On remaining pumpkin, write "Happy Thanksgiving!" in black marker.

Bend rectangular strip of construction paper into an accordion. Glue one end to inside center of card.

Glue other end to back of pumpkin.

Place heavy book over your pop-up pumpkin, allow to set for 10 minutes.

Using white colored pencil, trace leaf shapes out of red, orange and yellow construction paper.
